Description | |
The web tension sensor 136.2 AMG-PLR is an advancement of the well-proven sensor 136.2. Its field of application ranges over various web materials such as paper, foils etc. Tension is measured at several sections of the web material. The resulting relative measuring values give information on • the web tension profile across the total width • the web tension on user-defined positions.
Adjustable Measuring Geometry - AMG The measuring geometry is precisely adjustable in a wide range by means of a micrometer screw. For this reason the application range is extended enormously. Now it is possible to measure tension on planar material with different physical characteristics, e.g. concerning elasticity and stiffness.
 Adjustment by micrometer screw

The special engineering design makes it possible to measure not only
static and dynamic line tension, but also to analyze the tension curves
across the length and breadth of the web.

The "handling constanter" facilitates - also for untrained users - to realise exact measuring results, in a high degree independent of the natural rigidity of the material. The shiftable hand grip of the sensor is pre-stressed to a defined force by means of springs. For measurement the sensor is pressed down against the material until the hand grip moves to a position between the upper and the lower stop. The pressing force - necessary for measurement - is reached now. |

Achievable measurement accuracy | |
mobile web tension measurement with sensors series 136.2-AMG-PLR
Overall, it is important to understand that this is a very complex measurement task.
With the mobile web tension measurement, the tension is tapped of a planar formation
by means of delimited geometry.
The resulting force vectors to be evaluated lie in three-dimensional space!
The properties of the material to be measured influence the measurement result individually parasitically with an indefinite amount.
Our 136.2-AMG-PLR sensor enables the user to carry out relative value measurements with very good repeatability, but no usable absolute value measurements.
On closer inspection, absolute value measurement results are "nice to have".
In most cases you can work very well with the relative value measurement results.
In the case of comparative measurements based on relative measured values, the repeatability that can be achieved is typically in the range of 1%.

The sensor 136.2-AMG-PLR does not meet all metrological wishes ....
But it is the only sensor worldwide that offers usable results for this complex measuring task.
Over the years this sensor has reached a large number of customers and all of them are very satisfied.
A large number of customers around the world are now using this sensor.
We have received very positive feedback regarding its suitability and utility. |
Special features | |
• adjustable measuring geometry, maximum flexibility for the various measuring tasks • minimum friction through rollers with easy running bearing technology, especially for precise measurement of low forces • no influence to the measurement by material or line speed • helical grooving of the rollers stabilize the head even at high speeds • sensor is pressed slightly on the material • handling-constanter for defined pressing force - independent of the user • high signal resolution even at low web tension • no tendency to resonate even at high speeds • splashproof and stainless design • robust and durable, effective overload protection • quickly delivers reproducible information about the line tension
