These sensors are of a sophisticated design for exact, highly reproducible line tension measurements at papermaking machine covers such as felts and sieves as well as fabrics and weaves. The special engineering design makes it possible to measure not only static and dynamic line tension, but also to analyze the tension curves across the length and breadth of the web.

Information on the line tension profile is often of great significance. It exerts in many production processes a major influence on the quality and the uniformity of the product, respectively on the life cycle of the covering. Early detection of problems at the machines reduce failure and unproductive downtime to a minimum. The time to change the product is shortened by very quick and defined adjustment of the working tension typical for any particular product. The dry content is increased by setting the optimum tension.

The handling constanter enables - also untrained users - to achieve exact measuring results. For measurement the sensor is pressed on the web. At the correct pressing force the operator gets a tactile feedback over the hand grip, so that a highly reproducible pressing force is reached.
